Baligh Hamdi A tribute concert - بليغ حمدي

This musical evening, hosted at the National Theatre on 17 April, celebrates the unforgettable compositions of Baligh Hamdi, an extraordinary talent in the world of Arabic music during the 20th century. Over his prolific career, spanning the 1950s to the early 1990s, Baligh Hamdi composed more than 3,000 songs for many of Egypt’s and the Arab world’s greatest singers. His contributions included 11 songs for Umm Kulthum, 30 for Abdel Halim Hafez, and a similar number for Warda, with whom he shared a profound love story that culminated in marriage. Their collaboration produced some of the most iconic romantic songs that continue to resonate with audiences today.

Baligh Hamdi also discovered young talents like Afaf Radi and Mayada El-Hennawi, who rose to fame performing his remarkable compositions. Despite countless musical evenings dedicated to his work, they are never enough to fully explore the magical world of melodies he created or to enjoy his rich legacy as a musical genius of the 20th century.

In this concert, we present a new selection of the King of Music masterpieces, brought to life by the extraordinary voice of Reham Abdel-Hakim and the rising Kuwaiti singer Khalaf Al-Mashouf, accompanied by the musical ensemble conducted by Dr Alaa Abdel-Salam.

ليلةٌ غنائية جديدة، يستضيفها المسرح الوطني في 17 أبريل، تستعيد أجمل ألحان الموسيقار بليغ حمدي، الموهبة الاستثنائية اللافتة في عالم الموسيقى والطرب في القرن العشرين. قدَّم بليغ حمدي في مسيرته الفنية الممتدة من الخمسينيات حتى مطلع التسعينيات أكثر من 3 آلاف لحن لأغلبية مطربي مصر والعالم العربي، من بينها 11 أغنية لكوكب الشرق و30 أغنية للعندليب ومثلها تقريبًا لوردة الجزائرية التي كانت شريكته في قصة حب عميقة كُلِّلَت بالزواج الذي امتد سنواتٍ طوالًا، وقد أثمر التعاون بينهما صفوةً من أجمل الأغنيات وأحبها إلى قلوب الجمهور حتى الآن.

كما اكتشف بليغ عددًا من الأصوات الشابة، مثل عفاف راضي وميادة الحناوي، ممن اشتهروا بغناء أروع الألحان من إبداعه. ومهما قدَّمنا من ليالٍ طربية فلن تكفي لإعادة اكتشاف عالم النغمات الساحر الذي صنعه بليغ، والتمتعِ بتراثه الزاخر بصفته عبقريَّ التلحين في القرن العشرين. في هذا الحفل نختار باقة جديدة من روائع سلطان الألحان يتألق في غنائها كلٌّ من المطربة المصرية ريهام عبدالحكيم والمطرب الكويتي الصاعد خلف المشعوف، بمصاحبة الفرقة الموسيقية التي يقودها المايسترو د. علاء عبدالسلام.
